Art Festival on the Beach in the Municipality of Schagen
With your feet in the sand, the sun slowly sinking into the sea, and art in all its forms all around you: Ku(n)stroute Zijpe aan Zee is a unique art festival on the beach. From May 29 through June 14, 2026, the beaches of Groote Keeten, Callantsoog, Sint Maartenszee, and Petten will serve as the backdrop for two weeks filled with art, culture, and socializing.
Visual artists from all over the Netherlands Schagen their work around the ten beach pavilions in the municipality Schagen . The artworks are on display on the beach and, at some pavilions, also on the terrace and indoors. These exhibitions are open to the public throughout the festival.
On weekends, the festival really comes to life with a varied program of free performances and shows, including theater, dance, and music. Choirs, performers, and bands create a relaxed festival atmosphere by the sea. In addition, visitors can participate in workshops such as painting, photography, and stamp art for a fee. For children and teens, there is a special program featuring performances, workshops, and creative activities.
The festival will kick off in festive style on Friday evening, May 29, with a public opening night on Callantsoog Beach, between the beach pavilions De Strandtent and Woest. At sunset, visitors can enjoy unique and surprising performances. Everyone is welcome to join us for this evening.
