Robberthas been performing on stage for about 35 years, primarily as a blues musician. In October 1987, he took the stage for the first time at the legendary Haarlem Jazz Club. Since then, he has performed hundreds of shows and won numerous awards, including the title of Best Blues Singer in the Netherlands. Robbert has won the Dutch Blues Challenge twice and has represented the Netherlands twice at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, where he was the only Dutchman ever to reach the finals in 2013; in 2017, he reached the semifinals. Robbert also has an impressive track record from accompanying various American blues and soul artists.
